The Lexington County Choral Society presents it's 14th season, beginning with "The Joy Of Christmas" on Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December, 5, 2009.
The presentation will feature Lexington School District One Children's Honor Choir as special guests.
The concert begins both nights at Saxe Gotha Presbyterian Church located at 5503 Sunset Blvd in Lexington.

The Town of Irmo invites the community and guests to “Light up your Holiday Season”, by joining in the celebration of its 8th annual Tree lighting Ceremony on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at 6 p.m. in the Irmo Town Park (located at the corner of Columbia Avenue and Carlisle Street, 2 blocks off Lake Murray Blvd).
Entertainment will be provided by the The District 5 Elementary Honors Choir, under the direction of Elise Helms; Music Director for the Irmo Elementary School.
Bring your family and enjoy the festivities, see the lights of Town Hall as well as the park. Come see Santa make an early appearance on an Irmo fire truck.
Light refreshments will be served.
Opening to the public on November 26, Holiday Lights on the River will run every night through December 31st from 6:00 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. Trotters enjoy a sneak preview of more than a million sparkling lights during this festive kick-off of Holiday Lights on the River. Proceeds from the Sleigh Bell Trot benefit the Saluda Shoals Foundation, a not-for-profit 501(C) (3).
Check-in is from 5:00-6:45 P.M. and the trot starts at 7:00 P.M. Park entrance will close at 5:00 P.M.
Fees are as follows: Early Bird (by 11/15) Certified Race: $20 per person
Day of event Certified Race: $30 per person
Fun Walk/Run: $5 per person (6 and under free)
All parking for this year’s Sleigh Bell Trot will be at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church located next to Saluda Shoals Park. Shuttles will be provided from the church parking lot to Sleigh Bell Trot registration before and after the race.
Medals will be awarded to top three finishers male & female, 10 and under, 14 and under, 19 and under, 24 and under, 29 and under, 34 and under, 39 and under, 44 and under, 49 and under, 54 and under, 59 and under, over 60.
Still Hopes Annual Holiday Market will be held on Wednesday, November 18th. Shop for Christmas from over 20 vendors. Refreshments will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Still Hopes Episcopal Retirement Community, located at 1 Still Hopes Drive in West Columbia. The Town of Irmo invites the community; individuals, schools & church groups, home owner associations, anyone & everyone, to "FALL" into LITTER PICK-UP this autumn on this special day. Everyone is invited to lend a helping hand, on this Saturday morning to help beautify our town as the holidays approach.
This event is being coordinated with the Palmetto Pride & Keep the Midlands Beautiful "Midlands Pride Week Blitz". We encourage your involvement to help make this event as much of a success as our Annual Spring Trash Bash. Volunteers are needed & appreciated. Please meet behind Irmo Town Hall (corner of 7300 Woodrow St & Columbia Ave). All trash collection supplies will be furnished. We look forward to seeing you there!
